Cookie policy
Last updated 12 October 2026
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. We also use similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage. In this policy we call them all cookies.
Cookies we use
| Name | Purpose | How long it stays |
|---|---|---|
| analytics_consent | Remembers your choice so we don’t ask again. | Until you clear it |
| first_seen | Lets us tell a first visit from a return visit. Set only if you choose Allow. | Until you clear it or choose No thanks |
| last_seen | Lets us tell when a new visit starts. Set only if you choose Allow. | Until you clear it or choose No thanks |
Why we use it
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies and stores nothing on your device. On its own it cannot tell a first visit from a return visit. If you choose Allow, the two dates above let us record whether each visit is new or returning. A visit starts after an hour with no activity on the site. All we receive is the label “new” or “returning” alongside the usual visit counts; the dates themselves never leave your device. Our privacy policy explains what the visit counts include.
If you choose No thanks, nothing is stored apart from your choice, and the site works the same way. We don’t use advertising or tracking tools, and our fonts and images are served from our own domain.
Some browsers, including Safari, delete this kind of storage after 7 days without a visit. A visit after that counts as new.
Changing your choice
Use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page to change your choice. Choosing No thanks deletes first_seen and last_seen straight away. You can also clear this website’s data in your browser settings at any time.
Links to other websites
Websites we link to, such as event organisers, may set their own cookies when you visit them. Their cookie policies apply there.
